Our History
Open Door Youth Center began when several individuals from Groffdale Mennonite Church saw the need for a place where students could come to hang out with friends and learn about Christ. This started in 1988, and in 2 years the "doors opened" at Bareville Fire Hall. The Fire Hall was rented out three nights a week for the youth.
For twenty years, we have seen over 3000 students come to the center. Many of these teens attended on a regular basis. In 1999, Open Door moved into its own facility, and now reside in a wonderful center complete with a full basketball court, area for other games and volleyball, pool tables, full kitchen, and soon a computer room to assist our kids with doing their homework!
